CIPS Book Series Launch With New Book
The CIPS Book Series, entitled "The Boundaries of Psychoanalysis," is making its debut this month with the publication of a major new work on comparative psychoanalysis, "When Theories Touch," by Steven J. Ellman. Dr. Ellman's book examines the interface of Freudian theory with the theoretical systems of D.W. Winnicott, Melanie Klein, Wilfred Bion, and a variety of contemporary schools of psychoanalytic thought.

Karnac Press is publishing "The Boundaries of Psychoanalysis" series. In addition to Dr. Ellman's work, the series will feature other original volumes that address differences and similarities in schools of psychoanalytic thought, as well as the relationship of psychoanalysis to adjacent disciplines, like philosophy or neuroscience, and the other mental health disciplines.
Meg Beaudoin, who has served as Chair of the CIPS Book Series Committee since 2006, has spearheaded the book series project. The Book Series Committee will continue to operate in coming years, but all editorial functions were shifted from the committee to a special Editorial Board. Meg continues to chair the committee and is also serving as Book Series Editor, a position to which she was appointed by the CIPS Board of Directors this past year.
