Society Outreach

Andrea Kahn, PhD, FIPA (PCC) is pleased to announce that the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program will be graduating seven (7) students who have completed a one-year certificate program on June 2, 2011. The Center will also give certificates of completion to four (4) students who are finishing an optional second year. Faculty will also be honored for their generous contributions of time and energy!

The Program was started in 1999 and has been very successful in bringing together licensed and pre-licensed mental health professionals (psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and marriage and family therapists) interested in psychoanalytic theory and practice. The curriculum provides exposure to British object relations and includes didactic classes and clinical seminars taught by many of the senior faculty. The psychotherapy training enhances students’ ongoing clinical work and not infrequently serves as a springboard to full psychoanalytic training at PCC.
