CIPS Governance

Overview of CIPS Governance

The Confederation of Independent Psychoanalytic Societies is governed by its Officers and Board of Directors in accordance with its bylaws and its Policy and Procedure Code. The Board of Directors includes representatives of its component psychoanalytic societies as well as its elected and appointed officers. The President and Vice President are elected by national balloting. The Treasurer and Secretary are appointed by the board. The Board of Directors meets on a monthly basis.

CIPS is committed to ensuring the democratic character of its governance. The CIPS bylaws and the CIPS Procedure Code are the central governance documents of the organization. Our bylaws are subject to regular review by the Board of Directors as well as by the Committee on Bylaws and Procedures. Our Procedure is updated by the Board as needed to enhance organizational functioning.
