Description

We are pleased to announce a new teleconference in conjunction with the publication of Bruce Reis’s new book:

CREATIVE REPETITION AND INTERSUBJECTIVITY: CONTEMPORARY FREUDIAN EXPLORATIONS OF TRAUMA, MEMORY, AND CLINICAL PROCESS

The course will take place on Sunday, December 15th and 29th from 12:00 to 1:30 pm (EST).

Bruce Reis, PhD,FIPA, explores varied conceptions of the intersubjective – engaging with the analytic literature from several continents to present a contemporary Freudian way of working with the unconscious that is modern and clinically relevant to today’s patients. Discussion of his new book will take up the themes of the unconscious intersubjective relation between analysand and analyst; work with primitive mental states; the value of a position of witnessing in the psychoanalytic treatment of trauma; considerations of the role of both silence and of language in the session; and transformations that allow for something new to occur within analytic space. All these considerations will be illustrated with clinical material.

Payments of $25.00 per session may be made by clicking on the link below. Payment may also be made by check and mailed to Susan Light, LCSW, 8 East 96th Street, New York, NY 10128. Payment must be received prior to the first session.

Registration ends on Friday, December 13th.
